The Old Bakery Holiday Cottage

Thank you so much for such a wonderful cottage. We have stayed in many throughout the UK and this is certainly one of the best – possibly the best ! The little touches such as fresh flowers, fresh scones, emergency tin, info into walks etc. make a big difference.Great games room.We hope to return.Becky,Paul and Joseph.West Sussex. October 2011.

Such a dear little cottage. We shall miss the ”happy”chickens when we look out of the bedroom window first thing in the morning at the lovely view.Lots of lovely memories to take back with us as we think of the lovely walks we had. Jaci and Roger Moore.Notts. September 2011

Thank you once again for a lovely holiday.  Your warm welcome made us feel like old friends visiting again.  Weather ideal!  Cottage wonderful!  John, Mary, Katie, Dave, Jasper & Cleo, Leics - June 2011

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and set in such a beautiful village – fantastic pub, friendly local shop and wonderful countryside – so much to do and see and our hosts were so welcoming and knowledgeable.  Would love to return.  Many thanks.  Jill, Tony & Sasha, Swansea - May 2011

We’ve stayed in many rented cottages, but this has to be one of the best and the difference is not just the level of comfort and decor but the thought clearly put into everything (the cream tea, the flowers, the eggs etc).  Thank you for a lovely holiday.  Gill & Pete, Maldon -  April 2011

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, the children jumping out of bed to feed the animals and catch up on a game of darts etc…  A fantastic place.  We’ll definitely be back.  Thank you.  Jen, James, Tom & Jess, Bethersden, Kent - April 2011

We have had a lovely, relaxing week enjoying the wonderful countryside that we love and some good walks and meals out at The Rising Sun, The Blue Ball and The Carew Arms. The cottage is so homely, stylish and you have thought of everything! Thank you for your warm welcome and the goodies. Liz, Mike and Sam Booker, Cambridge - February 2011

Another cosy New Year in this lovely cottage!! Penny & Peter - Dec/Jan 2011

Quite simply the nicest holiday cottage we have stayed in – such considerate and helpful people, everything is here that you could possibly need. Together with the wonderful countryside, the friendliness of the village people, makes this an ideal holiday destination. We look forward to coming here again. Many thanks. George, Janet & Oscar – Aug 2010

Thank you for a lovely week. Very much appreciated your hospitality and for making The Old Bakery ‘home from home’. Beautiful countryside. Beautiful cottage. Simply beautiful. Games barn great for the boys. Debs, Stuart, Alex & Nick Blackmore – July 2010

What a wonderful experience. A real home from home. Stunning scenery all around and so much to see. Reluctant to go home. Vivien & Mike, Norwich – June 2010

This is the week the volcanic ash cloud covered the UK, the flight we had booked was cancelled and a last minute plan lead us to this storybook cottage. We can’t imagine having had a better holiday anywhere else! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful, thoughtfully prepared cottage. We hope to be back soon. Vicky & Ian, London – April 2010

A fantastically equipped and furnished cottage for a wonderful family holiday. Dunster Castle and the food at The Blue Ball Inn are not to be missed. The children will have happy memories of grooming ‘Jewel’ the pony and collecting the eggs. The warmest welcome and delicious cream teas will not be forgotten. Colin, Steph, Lizzie and Faye – August 2011

We could not have wished for a better place to stay.  Many thanks for your kindness and generosity.  Pam & David, Glasgow – July 2011

The scone welcome was the taster of things to come. The accommodation was lovely and nothing missing.   The surrounding area of particular beauty.  One highlight was certainly the twice daily feedings of the animals which Leon and Arielle enjoyed most.  Wolf & Gita, London - June 2011

This place is a real tonic, makes you realise how idyllic life can be!  Beautiful area and property absolutely everything you need.  We have enjoyed all aspects of our holiday and wouldn’t have wanted a nicer place to spend our anniversary.  Thank you for all your hospitality and giving us the pleasure of feeding the gorgeous lambs, we plan to come back!  Danny & Amanda, Surrey – May 2011

What a wonderful property in a beautiful location.  We’ve had a fantastic time exploring on foot and on mountain bike.  So much more to do and see so we will be back and hopefully we will both be exploring on mountain bikes on our return visit, hours more tracks to ride and explore! Thanks.  Dan & Chris, Tadley, Hants – April 2011

Fabulous week in a wonderful cottage. Welcome was excellent, views are fantastic – we even had some gorgeous weather to match! Can highly recommend the West Somerset Railway, particularly on a sunny day. Also a must to try the freshly laid eggs – the best we’ve had for ages. Clare and Matt - April 2011

We have had a brilliant stay here and hope to come again, the cottage is in a beautiful location and the whole family found it very peaceful.  Thank you for making our stay as lovely as it has been!  “PS me and my brothers loved the play room!” Family Georghiades, St Ives, Cornwall – March 2011

We had an absolutely lovely stay in Flora’s Barn – its the best self catering cottage we have stayed in – fantastic view, really comfortable.  Thank you for the personal touches, lovely scones, eggs etc.  Carol, Paul & Cooper Gardner, Hinkley, Leics – Mar/April 2011

We had a most wonderful time in your comfortable barn.  Found out about Coleridge and read some of his poems.  Came to see the starlings at dusk, Exmoor ponies and red deer but discovered so much more.  Mr & Mrs Lockwood, Beaulieu, Hants – Feb 2011

We have had a wonderful stay in Flora’s Barn, we just wish we could have stayed for longer.  We would love to come here again and shall definitely be recommending it to family and friends. The garden is beautiful – Eva loved peering at the chickens, sheep and horses over the fence, the barn is beautifully decorated – so comfortable and clean.  Thank you and see you again!  Sue, Bob, Charlotte, Gary & Eva - Sept 2010

A perfect holiday – beautiful, spotlessly clean accommodation in a lovely setting. Almost glad we had some poor weather as it gave us the excuse we needed to light the fire. Matthew and Adam enjoyed the games in the barn. We felt at home as soon as we arrived and have had a very relaxing break. Thank you. Sarah, Geoff, Matthew and Adam. – August 2010

Wonderful accommodation in such a lovely location, we couldn’t have asked for better. Sometimes its the little things that make the big difference and we had many little things here… welcoming cream tea (not so little!), wine, milk, fresh eggs. We would recommend a trip on the steam train for an opportunity to relax and watch the beautiful scenery. A visit to Cheddar Gorge to explore the caves and a stroll around Dunster and dinner at the Farmer’s Arm. We would love to come back when the weather gives us an excuse to light the fire and watch the winter weather from the luxury that is Flora’s Barn!Catherine, Derek and Jonathan, Liverpool – July 2010

Beautiful, well equipped cottage. 5 Star bed, 5 star view! Favourite church – Doddington, favourite eating place – The Blue Ball at Triscombe, favourite cottage – Flora’s Barn! Thank you very much, we’ll come back again for another Quantocks fix. The Day and Whitehouse families, Warwickshire – June 2010

This place has been heavenly. The accommodation is great, with all the mod cons you need, a brilliant welcome from the hosts, and that view! Watching the sunset from that huge window has been a delight every evening. We will definitely be coming back again and giving this place a firm recommendation – Thank you! Sophie & Sam, London – April 2010
