Self Catering Cottages in the heart of the Quantock Hills
Awarded the prestigious Visit England 4 Star Gold Award 2011- 2017 for quality accommodation and customer service, Town End Farm and its adjoining cottages are situated on the edge of the ancient village of Crowcombe in the heart of the Quantock Hills, the first area in Britain designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There is a footpath directly opposite the farm entrance which leads right up to the top of the hills and across the surrounding countryside which has changed very little from the days when it inspired the romantic poets Coleridge and Wordsworth. Just a few minutes walk will take you into the heart of the village, where you will find the village church, shop with Post Office and also a traditional pub, The Carew Arms.
Town End Farm Cottages are perfect for the traditional summer holiday or for short breaks mainly from November to April. The cottages have full CH and a log burner. Each has two double bedrooms – one kingsize bedroom with en-suite including a free-standing bath with shower attachment, and one twin bedded double bedroom with separate shower/wc. The 17th Century Old Bakery has been thoughtfully renovated and retains lots of character and charm. Flora’s Barn the more modern barn conversion enjoys spectacular views from the wall-to-wall West facing cathedral windows. Each property has its own garden plus use of our own large garden with small stream. Both cottages have all modern appliances, including washing machine, dishwasher, flat screen TV and DVD player, Wi-Fi. They have oil-fired central heating and a log burner. Baby equipment can be supplied by arrangement. The Farmhouse and Cottages are supplied with water from the local estate.
Guests staying in Town End Farm cottages can enjoy full use of a large games barn with pool table, table tennis, darts and table football. We keep a small selection of outdoor play equipment for young children. Transportation for the setting down and collection of guests and their bikes can be arranged.
